Briefcase Poker Chip Insert for Netrunner (or any other card game)
This insert is designed for a Netrunner 8 player game night briefcase that will hold 8-9 50 sleeved card decks. (If you want 9 decks, rotate the cards 90 degrees.)
The insert uses the friction with the foam below and beneath to stay into place. I preferred leaving some space over a really tight fit as the briefcase is rounded and I want them to be easy to take out..
If you want to replicate this, you will need the following:
1. The briefcase - It is a hard plastic briefcase from Amazon. It comes with foam that you can cut with a box cutter knife: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013UCNTDE
2. Deck boxes - The deck boxes depicted are the 50 sleeved Burger Token ones: https://burgertokens.com/products/perfect-fit-deckboxes?variant=31359437996121
3. Netrunner Poker Chips - I use 11.5g Poker Chips from Discount Poker Shop. The insert stores 120 chips (6 per slot). https://www.discountpokershop.com/25pc-115g-six-spot-blank-poker-chips-colors-p-703.html
4. Printed Poker Chip labels - For more information on how to print your own labels for the blank chips, I recommend Artist Colony's article here: https://medium.com/@kevintame/artist-colony-making-your-own-netrunner-credit-poker-chips-cf64e64e3b
5. Counting chips - These are optional but the insert has room for 4 red and 4 blue counting chips. I use these to move on top of the click trackers. 8 chips support 8 players: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00004WKPM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title
6. Dice - Again, these are entirely optional. However, for the purpose of 8P game nights, a set of dice allows players to grab one chip and a few dice to keep track of anything in the game. An alternative use of this space in the insert could be a notebook. It's a good chunk of space so there are plenty of options. These are the dice I used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07R5SJQ6D/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title
The entire case with everything in it weighs about 9-10lbs or 4kgs. It feels very sturdy.
Please note that the files do not include the laser-cut box. (The depicted box was purchased from CustomisedGaming on Etsy.)
Finally, if you want to have enough cards for 8 NISEI decks as depicted, you will have to either buy more sets or print a set of proxies. More information on how that works can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Netrunner/comments/vn738u/printing_some_proxies_to_turn_nisei_netrunner/
### ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
In addition to the terms and conditions specified by Cults3D, the following applies:
*"The creator cannot be held responsible, liable or accountable for any costs, inconveniences or damages - direct, indirect or incidental - resulting from the use of the provided files."*
In other words, I only provide 3D files. Whether or not you decide to print them is entirely up to you and I take no responsibility if anything goes wrong.
If you are unfamiliar with 3D printing, there are a few things to keep in mind before you do:
Board game inserts are often tight fits. Minor size differences in components can result in an insert that does not fit entirely.
STL files are not directly used for 3D printing. Your slicer settings and printer calibration need to match mine to get similar results to mine.
To mitigate such issues, you can calibrate your printer carefully and measure your components prior to printing, but purchasing these files does not guarantee that you will be able to get a perfect print in any way.
