Remixing UNO Deck box to survive my roughneck kids
Update: I updated the bottom part so that cards are easier to remove. Another big Thanks to SpoonUnit for the exchange of ideas to improve usability.
A friend and I were really impressed with SpoonUnit's UNO deck holder. After printing it we realized that we wanted it a little thicker to survive full contact UNO. However, being PLA, I don't expect my somewhat tougher remix to survive a slap shot with a hockey stick.
Changes that I made:
1. I redesigned the top and bottom parts to be 2 to 2.5 mm thick to help strengthen the design.
2. I added 2 and 3 mm fillets on some of the edges to further help strengthen the design and smooth it out.
3. I added raise bumps on the outside of the box to help with gripping to pulling the box apart. Plus I like the tactile feel of those bumps.
4. I used the UnoLogo that Spoon made because it was awesome.
Directions:
1. Print the UnoDeckHolderBottomPart1.STL part
2. Print the UnoDeckHolderTopPart1.STL
3. Get the UnoLogo from SpoonUnit's original design here:https://www.thingiverse.com/download:6475793
Print at 0.1 to 0.3 layer settings with 20% or more infill. No supports, raft, or brim necessary.
