Skip-Bo 2 in 1 Carry Case and Play Space (Rugged Box)
This model was designed to solve the age old problem of messy Skip-Bo games. While many card trays are already available to download, none of them seem to have thought about storage or transport of the cards, meaning you'd have to store and transport an extra piece of plastic along side your Skip-Bo deck. This extra space and effort quickly becomes a waste and an inconvenience of it's own, making a 2 in 1 solution the way to go.
With this in mind, I decided the best starting point for my 2 in 1 accessory would be the parametric rugged box ubiquitous to 3D printed projects everywhere.
After a couple layout revisions, I settled on this 2 x 2 design, leaving the draw deck and discard deck outside of the box during play. I then right sized the box for a full deck of Skip-Bo cards, minimizing the overall dimensions while retaining enough room inside the box to both play and store the cards.
I started this project as a Secret Santa gift for a friend, but after finishing the project I was too happy with the final result not to share it. I hope you enjoy!
