Features
Full-Sized Playing Area

Both versions feature the traditional 20-tile grid layout of The Royal Game of Ur , providing an authentic experience in a portable design.

Travel Version with Split Board

The board splits into two parts for easy storage and portability. During gameplay, magnets hold the sections together. When stored, the split board acts as a lid, with magnets keeping it in place and displaying 3×4 tile section on top.

Dedicated Compartments for Storage

The case includes compartments to securely hold game pieces and dice, keeping everything organized and protected.

Magnetic Pieces & Tiles

Magnets help keep the pieces in place during play and make it easy to stack the pieces not currently on the board. Magnets are optional but highly recommended for enhanced gameplay.

Unique Tetrahedron Dice

Modern tetrahedron-shaped dice provide a visually unique twist while maintaining the original gameplay mechanics.

Included Files
  • Split board and regular board (separate files).
  • 6 tile designs with separate pattern and background files for color customization.
  • Game pieces (top, bottom, and pattern components).
  • Tetrahedron dice (body file and dot file).
  • Case with compartments for storage.
Printing and Assembly
General
  • Nozzle Size: A 0.4 mm nozzle is recommended for all parts. Use a 0.6 mm nozzle for faster printing of the board and case.
  • Layer Height: A 0.2 mm layer height is optimal.
  • Supports: No supports needed—all parts are designed to print cleanly without additional support structures.
Tiles

Tiles have fine details that benefit from a 0.2 mm nozzle for improved precision. Glue tile patterns to backgrounds and tile assemblies to game board.

Dice

Each dice requires one body and four dots—two of one color, two of another. To achieve balanced tetrahedron dice, follow these settings:

  • Walls/Perimeters: 3
  • Top Surface Pattern: Concentric
  • Top Shell Thickness: 2 mm
  • Bottom Surface Pattern: Monotonic
  • Bottom Shell Layers: 5

Holes in dice may need to be cleaned before gluing dots.

Magnets

This design accommodates 6 mm diameter, ~1.7 mm thick neodymium magnets (verify your magnets' thickness, as some advertised as 2.0 mm are actually 1.7 mm). These magnets are also used in the Gridfinity system. AliExpress Example of suitable magnets.

  • Glue magnets into the designated slots in the board and case. No glue is needed for the magnets in the tiles or game pieces.
  • Ensure correct polarity before gluing: the board sections must attract each other, and tiles should attract game pieces.
