I like finding fault with everything.
One egregious fault with the board game “Windmill Valley” by Board & Dice is the way that wooden cubes are used to track the water level and the wheel rotation speed.
Because you need to see the numbers UNDERNEATH the cube. Sure, your brain can see the two numbers either side and work out what the current wheel speed or water level is, but if they'd only included a square with a cut-out on the counter sheet …
Print two of these. I did them in dark brown, but one brown, one blue might make more sense to some people.
