Designer's Description
Overview
I loved the original 7 Segment Mechanical Counter design and wanted a larger version for keeping score during sports, games, tournaments, and family events.
This remix scales the original counter to 150% and adds a center connector frame that joins two counters into a single scoreboard. The larger size improves visibility while maintaining the satisfying mechanical operation of the original design.
The center panel supports customizable inserts, allowing the scoreboard to be personalized for different uses.
Current Insert Options
- Home / Away
- Man vs Woman
- Parents vs Kids
- King vs Queen
- Memorial Day Pool Volleyball
Additional themes can easily be created by importing custom SVG artwork.
Features
- Uses two 150% scaled counters
- Portable one-piece scoreboard assembly
- Larger, easier-to-read digits
- Customizable center panel graphics
- Multi-color AMS friendly
- No electronics required
- Great for:
- Pool volleyball
- Pickleball
- Cornhole
- Family game nights
- School events

- Friendly competitions

PETG recommended
Color Suggestions
- Team colors
- Holiday/event-themed colors
Assembly
- Print two copies of the original counter at 150% scale and assemble.
- It is recommended to use Super Lube on the mechanical counter. This is explained in the youtube video linked in the original counter model.
- Super Lube Multi-Purpose Synthetic Oil w/Syncolon (PTFE/Teflon) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000UKUHXK?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1
- If you print at 150%, then all rubber bands can be replaced with a single size. I used 3.15 inch silicone rubber bands for longer life: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09ZLHWCMZ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
- Stretch a rubber band to connect each set of neighboring pegs, so each segment has its own rubber band.
- Use a rubber band on the open pegs of the flat push piece in place of springs if you like. See the original model for more details on this.
- Print the scoreboard frame.
- Assemble the frame as shown in the photos.
- Enjoy!
The counters are operated by pushing the handle all the way down until you hear the click and then pulling it all the way up.
