Designer's Description

The storage in the Slay the Spire Collector's Edition box is pretty solid, but isn't great during actual gameplay. Baggies for saving progress between games isn't very user friendly, the table layout has 10+ stacks of cards at all times with no trays to keep them organized, each character has several stacks of cards, etc. I wanted individual player trays/deckboxes that could come out of the box and straight to the table, while also being functional to hold your card supplies during play. The same goes for acts, small items, conditions, etc.

I found BigKev's excellent design, but needed to make a few tweaks:

Changes to BigKev's design:

  • Removed fillets from insides of boxes, which can bend sleeve corners
  • Made Acts and Unlocks boxes wider internally to allow for broader compatibility with third party sleeves
  • Added holsters to character mini tray to prevent them from rattling around and scuffing paint
  • Reduced dimensions on a few components to better fit box
  • Added a boss card holder
  • Fully redesigned boss health bar tray, combined with the small cards tray, and added slots for keys

I'm also packing in my own character cups design that removes the need to use baggies to save between games. Print in vase mode and they fit perfectly in the top insert for saving your status between floors. Alternatively the lidded versions of the cups will use more material, but will have better piece retention if you store the box on its side. For quick setup during new games, keep each tray loaded with the following after a reset:

  • 3x red cubes
  • 1x black cube
  • 3x coins
  • Ironclad
  • 4x strength tokens
  • 1x large strength token
  • Silent
  • Shivs
  • Poison tokens
  • Defect:
  • Yellow, blue, and purple cubes
  • Watcher
  • Miracle tokens
  • 1x additional red cube

Lastly, a remix of StarStuff_29's press-fit cube holders for character and boss boards. I love the idea, but their design did not play with my 0.6mm nozzle. There are other remixes and similar models of this, so feel free to find what works best for you. It's a tiny, fiddly model for FDM so your mileage may vary.
