Planet Unknown Insert

Designer's Description

There does not seem to be any 3D printed insert for the retail or deluxe editions of the board game Planet Unknown . So, therefore I decided to design one myself.

Features
  • Fits sleeved and unsleeved cards
  • Individual player component boxes and game components boxes
  • Lids have finger holes for easy retrieval and opening. Also, lids can be attached to the underside of its tray
  • Allows vertical storage with additional S.U.S.A.N. Cover
  • All insert components can be printed on a 18x18 cm bed (e.g. Prusa Mini+)

The original injection molded insert must be removed for this insert to fit in the box.

Content
  • 1 score card tray and lid
  • 2 card trays and lids
  • 6 medium game component boxes and lids
  • 6 small player component boxes and lids
Print Settings

Use the following settings to print the insert components with a hexagonal pattern.

  • Nozzle Diameter: 0.4 mm
  • Layer height: 0.25 mm (can be increased if your printer allows it)
  • Perimeters: 4
  • Solid Layers Top: 0
  • Solid Layers Bottom: 0
  • Detect Thin Walls: On
  • Fill Gaps: On
  • Fill Density: 20%
  • Fill Pattern: Honeycomb
Nice to haves
  • It is recommended to also print the S.U.S.A.N. Cover made by FirstKlund to allow vertical storage of the box. I would also recommend to print the Locked Tech tokens by 3D Lee .
