Acorn Miniature / Resource Token
Print Profile 2h 32m 28 g PLA
Plate Details (1)
A handful of little acorns can add a surprising amount of detail to a scene. I originally made these as small natural scatter pieces, but they work for quite a few different things depending on what you're building.

For board games, they can be used as resource tokens, collectible items, food or nature-themed resources, currency, objectives, markers or simply as small pieces of scenery. They are especially nice for games where you want something a little more thematic than a generic wooden cube or cardboard token.
They also fit really well into D&D, DnD, TTRPGs and tabletop RPGs. Use them as forest scatter, druid or ranger props, woodland resources, quest items, ingredients, treasure, small objects found during exploration, or just as little details around a forest campsite or village. A pile of acorns can make a forest encounter feel much more alive without taking up much space on the table.
They are also great for dioramas and miniature scenes. Scatter them around tree stumps, forest paths, woodland houses, fairy gardens, fantasy villages, parks, autumn scenes or anywhere else that could use some natural ground detail. They can also work nicely for dollhouses, model railways, miniature photography, scale models and fantasy displays.
And of course, they don't have to stay miniature. Print a larger version and they can become autumn decorations, seasonal displays, craft projects, table decorations or natural-looking decorative pieces. In smaller sizes, you can print a whole pile of them without using much filament, which makes them particularly useful when you want to cover a larger area with scatter.
The acorns are designed as simple, chunky pieces with enough detail to still look good when printed small. I also made them with multicolour printing in mind, so the acorn and cap can easily be given different colours.
- Layer height: 0.16 mm
- Supports: Some supports are required but very easy to remove
- Filament changes: 1 filament change
- Colour: Two-colour friendly
- Scaling: Can easily be scaled to your preferred size
I printed these at 0.16 mm layer height. There are some small support areas, but they come off very easily and don't require much cleanup. The only filament change is for the second colour, so they remain pretty straightforward to print even if you want to make a whole pile of them.
