This crate is 15 mm (0.59 in) tall, making it a nice size for miniature terrain without taking up too much space. It is mainly designed as a piece of scatter terrain, so you can use it pretty much anywhere a crate would make sense. For D&D and other tabletop RPGs, it works well in dungeons, taverns, warehouses, markets, docks, ships, villages and storage areas. It also fits nicely into wargaming tables, fantasy scenes and dioramas, where a few small props can make an otherwise empty area feel much more complete.
I especially like using models like this in groups. One crate on its own is a small detail, but print a handful and suddenly you have a proper pile of cargo, a storage area or a busy little market. You can stack them, spread them around a room, or mix them with barrels, chests, sacks and other scatter pieces. They also work well for miniature photography when you need something in the background to give the scene a bit more context.
The model is intentionally kept simple and single-color, so it is easy to print and easy to use in larger quantities. There are no separate parts or complicated color changes to deal with.
- Size: 15 mm / 0.59 inches tall
- Layer height: 0.16 mm
- Supports: None required

I printed these at 0.16 mm layer height, but feel free to resize them depending on what you are building. Whether you need a few small crates for a dungeon or much larger ones for a diorama, the model can easily be adjusted to fit your scene.
