Insert for Bruxelles 1897

My insert for the board game Bruxelles 1897 .

Designed to fit sleeved cards. I've tested it with Gamegenic Standard sleeves, but there should be some leeway for even slightly taller sleeves.

Note that there have been several printings of this game, with slight manufacturing differences in the size or tolerances of the game components and the box. For this reason, I provide two variants of the insert:

• Loose clearance variant ( recommended ): This variant of the insert has a slightly smaller footprint, as well as a wider cutout for the wooden tokens. The downside is that the separator between the two bottom card wells is half as thin and might be brittle. To combat this, some additional chamfers have been added as stress relief. (It should be fine for normal use and I don't actually expect it to break, but do let me know if yours does!)

If in doubt, go with this version.

Confirmed versions requiring this variant (identified by the text around the barcode on the bottom of the box):

• Lot BXL97 - English Edition / Made in China

• Tight clearance variant: The only benefit of this variant is that the additional width leaves more room for the card separator, making it a lot more sturdy. Mostly kept for historical reasons, as it's dimensionally identical to the first version of the insert (i.e. the one I have printed myself and can vouch for).

Confirmed to work for my copy of the game, though even this printing may have variations, so I can't guarantee anything:

Note that each version also comes with a test model that is quick to print and can be used to check 1) if the insert would fit in your box, 2) if the wooden tokens would fit. I recommend printing this before deciding on which variant to pick.

To check the dimensions of the box, drop the test print in the bottom half of the box and make sure it goes down all the way to the bottom without getting stuck. To check the wooden tokens, use the rectangular cutout in the top corner of the test print. Take all 17 tokens (four of each player color and one black) and make sure that they fit easily when stacked together inside this cutout.

• 2025-09-08: Added a chamfer to the underside of the insert, to prevent any possible interference with the tiny crease where the walls and bottom of the box meet.
