But be careful! Having a lot of Katanas on the grid means that you can accomplish more with fewer actions, but also increases the risk of them hindering each other. Florenza: X Anniversary Edition (2020)Florence is one of the most important cradles of Italian Renaissance, during which world-famous artists, such as Michelangelo, Raffaello, Leonardo da Vinci and many more, worked. In this game you can hire them to create extraordinary masterpieces, going down in history as famous patrons. GAME MECHANICS Florenza is a high complexity resource management game, in which accurate planning and precise management of workers and resources are crucial to victory. No mistake will be forgiven. It is possible to use opponents’ workshops and the number of artists and works of art available is very limited, which creates great interaction between players. WHY YOU WILL LIKE IT Because of its tactical complexity, which will challenge you, but will be extremely rewarding; for the great range of strategic options and different ways leading to victory; because hanging a portrait drawn by Leonardo da Vinci on the wall of your bridal room is priceless! Florenza Dice Game (2019)Do not be deceived by the fact that this is a roll-and-write game: Florenza Dice Game is a fully-fledged resource management game. Not a quick little game, but a deep and tricky title, despite being pocket-sized, affordable, and with zero set-up time! The game in short: GAME MECHANICS Each player in turn rolls six dice. The active player can choose three dice, then the other players pick one of the remaining dice each. With your chosen dice you can gain resources or money, hire Artists or advance on the City Prestige Track in order to obtain different bonuses... and thus maybe become Bishop or Captain of the People! WHY YOU’LL LIKE IT It is a strategical Eurogame that is always at hand. The set-up takes only a few seconds, but the gameplay experience is complex, with different paths that lead to victory: with your district’s palace you can earn many points with little resources, with your church you can earn useful income and your buildings can grant you useful effects during the game! What will you choose to create? Radetzky: Milano 1848 (2018)Smoke rises from the barricades, messengers dart among the rebels' outposts, the air is thick and vibrant with expectation... Radetzky: Milano 1848 is a cooperative game in which players act as the people of Milan rising against the Austrian Empire, represented by Austrian soldiers and their leader, Field Marshal Joseph Radetzky. GAME MECHANICS Each turn, players can take up to three actions to move, use special abilities, fight, or claim territories. The PRESS YOUR ROCK mechanics for Fights is the core of the game. It is a combination of press your luck and rock-paper scissors: players must respond to Austrian cards using the appropriate ones from their hand. If two or more players are on the same area, they can join in and fight together. They can go on fighting until they decide to stop... or until they win (or lose!). WHY YOU WILL LIKE IT! The mechanic of Press your rock makes your games more tens and puts the players at the centre of the action, limiting the influence of possible Alpha players: when it’s your turn to fight, you will feel that you have the situation under control and you will follow your instinct. The basic rules are suitable also for playing with children, but advanced rules are designed for expert players. Wendake (2017)Wendake is set in the Great Lakes territory, during the 7 Years’ war (whose effects are explained in depth in the Wendake: New Allies expansion). You will find yourself in a Native American tribe chief’s shoes. You are going to manage all the most important aspects of their lives, earning points on the Economic, Military, Ritual, and Mask Tracks. The setting has been studied in great detail and is explained in the annexed historical booklet. GAME MECHANICS The core of the game is the action selection mechanism:  Choose your actions by column, diagonal or row on your personal board. Flip the used tile to show the Ritual action. Slide the tiles and upgrade one of them, to reach stronger and stronger actions during your games. Actions include Movement, hunting, fishing, gathering, rituals, ceremonies and more! WHY YOU WILL LIKE IT Because it is an original and innovative mechanism, which will make you feel a great sense of participation in the development of the gameplay engine, in which you play in a strategic way, while being embedded in a more familiar rules-set which makes you feel at ease! Kepler-3042 (2016)The year is 3042: Humanity is ready to explore the galaxy. The most interesting celestial bodies to explore, and eventually colonize, have been known for centuries, and the nations of Earth finally have achieved the technological level to reach them, thus beginning an unarmed competition that, in the end, the whole of humanity will win. GAME MECHANICS Kepler-3042 is a resource management game in which you have to explore, colonize, exploit, and terraform the planets of the Milky Way using the available technologies. In each round, you must choose which action to perform and which bonuses to activate, managing your supplies of matter, energy and antimatter. The peculiar strength of the game is the innovative resource management: you have a finite amount of matter, energy and antimatter you can produce or spend during the game. Furthermore, you can decide to burn forever one or more resources to perform powerful actions, thereby allowing them to follow different strategies. WHY YOU WILL LIKE IT Kepler-3042 is dedicated to whoever loves the most complex challenges: you only have 17 resources for the whole game and only 16 turns to enact your strategy. Often you’ll find yourself cursing the fact that you can’t have even one more of one or the other. But if you did, where would the challenge be?
