Tony had to step away from the company and it is now run solely by Daniel. Our first game The Science and Seance Society was on Kickstarter in October of 2020, followed by Rivet Heads, Reapers, Union Station, and Portents. In March 2022, New Mill Industries worked with Spielworxx to produce London Necropolis Railway, making it available for pre-orders rather than use crowdfunding. Rand Lemley's Tall Tales was on Kickstarter April 2023 and Enemy Anemone was available as a pre-order in the summer of 2023. We then pivoted to exclusively publish trick taking and climbing/shedding games, doing reprints of out of print Japanese titles and new games from the United States, often from designers who have not yet been published. New Mill Industries is owned by Daniel Newman, designer of Dead Man's Cabal from Pandasaurus Games, Watch from PD Verlag/Rio Grande, Ahead in the Clouds and Feat on the Ground from Button Shy Games, Rolled West from Tasty Minstrel Games, and Mori from Allplay (as well as several titles with New Mill). We’re not trying to get onto mass market shelves with our titles but rather connect with a niche audience that, like us, prizes unique game experiences that might not fit into the mold of traditional publishing. While you won’t see extravagant art, marketing blitzes, crates of minis, or huge convention booths from us, you can expect us to pour our hearts and souls into every aspect of the games that we make.
