like to know a little about her current family, scroll to paragraph 5. 1. Kristi B. has had a lifelong passion for gaming, ignited by her mother. Every day before school her mom would sit her down to play at least one hand of cards. After school her mom would beg her to play games, and it was Kristi that would have to occasionally say “no mom, I have homework to do.” In addition, the two of them would design games for their family – a new one for each holiday. All just for the sake of fun and family togetherness. She was born and bred into the industry, without even realizing it at the time. 2. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree at the University of Kentucky, she started down a path of what would eventually be four careers. The first three included a Mathematics Teacher in Missouri and Florida, a Marketing Data Processing Manager in New York City, and over a decade of climbing the ranks in the Healthcare Reporting and Data Analytics field, ending with a VP title and partial ownership of one of the leading companies in the industry. Other titles included Director of Culture, HR Liaison, Business Development Manager, Director of Operations, Project Manager, Senior Analyst, and more. Bored yet? Well she sure was! Hopefully the next section gets more exciting... 3. Throughout her previous careers, she continuously kept coming back to games. At the end of 2016 she finally decided it was time to pursue her dreams and up and left her stable healthcare career. In the beginning of 2017 she started her own company (UBKB, LLC), and took the rest of the year to go to every Con possible so she could network, learn and immerse herself in the industry. It did not take her long to realize that she found her lifelong career path and finally felt at “home.” 4. Currently, Kristi works as a game developer at Underdog Games, and does contract work with other companies in various capacities. In parallel, she continues to design her own games. 5. To this day, she consistently plays games with her mother and family. And yes, her mother still begs her to play more games, and Kristi will occasionally have to say “mom, I have homework to do” – but this time her mother is included, because games are her homework.
