consequences. RECURSION (2026) is his debut design—a competitive strategy game set in a techno-feudal surveillance state where players hack factions, build shadow networks, and navigate the recursive trap of systems that learn from every action. The game spent over a year in development, with extensive balance testing across interconnected systems, including network infrastructure, economic engines, character progression, and territorial control. Influenced by surveillance capitalism theory, sci-fi literature, and complex Euro-style strategy games, Scott's design philosophy emphasizes multiple viable strategies and meaningful player interaction. In RECURSION, mechanical feedback loops mirror the thematic concept: every action generates data that strengthens the system controlling you. Scott plans to launch RECURSION via Kickstarter at Gen Con 2026, working with artist Chris Rubino to bring the dystopian world of 2047 to life. -from the designer-
