Åkerlund, who, like board game publisher Alga, was part of the Bonnier Group. During these years, he designed a horse racing game, Jägersro (which he called Jägersrospelet), that was published by Alga in 1945. Later (in the 1950's) he would also design another horse racing game called Månvalla med V5 (which he called Månvalla Travbana), which was also published by Alga. The name Månvalla (approx. "The grazing field of the Moon") is a pun on the name of Stockholm's horse racing track of Solvalla (approx. "The grazing field of the Sun"). This game was Alga's countermove when competitor Aristospel published a game about Solvalla (and "nicked" the name!) In later life Jangö became the long-lasting and legendary Editor-in-Chief of hobby magazine Allt om Hobby, retiring in 1985.
