Jim Reichert
Jim was born and raised in Illinois, but went to college at Indiana University in Bloomington. class. Having barely graduated, he managed to worm his way into to video game industry with a portfolio of games whose development was unwittingly funded by his parents. Thankfully, he scored a job with SEGA Midwest and quickly turned around a port of the then-well-known World Heroes from SNK. Later, he went on to work at VGL Labs, makers of the famed Tesla Pods. These pods ran some of the first virtual reality games available: BattleTech and Red Planet. Later VGL Labs would branch off and much of the development team joined FASA Iteractive, the digital wing of FASA, a company well-known for the ShadowRun and BattleTech intellectual properties. FASA Interactive was then purchased by Microsoft and a quick succession of titles ensued: MechCommander 1 & 2, MechWarrior 4 & Expansions, Crimson Skies, Links 2001, and Dungeon Siege-- all of which Jim had a hand in making. From there, Jim joined a rapid-prototyping team deep inside Microsoft's Research branch and has been working with arcane technology and crazy notions ever since... as his day job. In 2009, Jim and his wife, Lori, founded Periphery Systems, LLC, which licenses intellectual property to game publishers. Their first design credits appear in the game "Ugh!" by FunFair.
