Hello fellow reader. If you came to read this line you have a wider attention span than me. I congratulate! My experience with board games is quite recent at the moment I'm writing this stuff. Which, of course, is giving you no relevant information. I discovered board games through ALEATOR: a local association of great people that know how to enjoy a Saturday night among cardboard pieces, drinks, dice, role playing…

manuals and a lot of imagination. With them I eventually made contact with the plethora of... Uh! I used the word "plethora" I'm sooo smart! Please love me! ... with a lot of great titles that really replaced my concept of board game. Then, after a year or two, the spark ignites something, and the idea for a new game spawns. I gather some resource, prepare a prototype and bring it to a convention. There my creature somewhat catches the eye of Marco Valtriani who a few months later founds BGDItalia.it a group of people that want to bring a more academic and scientific approach to game design. Under the mentoring of Marco I studied some of the capstones of game design, and I'm still learning. It's great to be part of a community of designers more talented than me... and they are great people too! (Where with "people" I mean "bunch of weirdos" and with "great" I mean "blackberry-flavored".) My first published game is Polpastrelli. It emerged during a game design blitz contest organized in Rome by the Italian publisher Red Glove. I really enjoyed designing it because of the hard constraints on the materials purposely weaved by the contest itself. It was a good example of how design constraints really make you discover new ways to do things.
