Jack founded Reiver Games to self-publish a hand-made run of Border Reivers. It was the days before Kickstarter and Jack was very successful, selling the whole 100 copy run in just under a year. During that year Jack started publishing games for other people and when he developed multiple sclerosis (MS) and his life insurance paid out he tried to run Reiver Games as a full-time job, professionally manufacturing games and trying to sell them through shops and distributors. After a few years of moderate success, Jack shut down Reiver Games and lost a ton of money. After a short hiatus due to disillusionment, Jack started designing games again and returned to blogging at Creation and Play. In 2017 Jack decided to get back into self-publishing hand-made games with the creation of Eurydice Games. Eurydice's first game is Zombology a 15 minute semi-cooperative card-drafting game about the sort of scientists who believe Magnets and Healing Crystals can cure anything trying to prevent the Zombie Plague. Only time will tell if small runs of hand-made games still sell in the era of Kickstarter! Jack is married to The Wife with two young daughters, the eldest of whom is old enough to be playing games (which Jack thinks is awesome) and has even started designing 'games' (which Jack thinks is awesomer!). Jack lives with his family in Newcastle upon Tyne in the north-east of England.
