Joseph Pilkus

Air Force at RAF Mildenhall, England. Upon his return to the U.S. in 1999, he dabbled with a few RPGs and war-games, but as he had a newborn, it would be a decade until Joe fell headfirst into the new board game scene. His gateway game, thanks to one of his closest friends, was Arkham Horror, 2nd Edition (AH2E). From that evening, during which he played three AH2E games from 9pm to 7 am the next day, he never looked back. Having purchased AH2E and all of the expansions over the first 18 months, he now has a library consisting of nearly 300 titles. Over the next few years, he play-tested and developed a wide variety of tactical, operational, and strategic-level war-games on a pro bono basis. In 2012, Joe started performing development services for a variety of companies under his LLC, Professor's Lab, including Academy Games, Compass Games, Decision Games, RedImp Games, and Stonemaier Games. To this day, he still provides development support with competitive rates for design analysis, playtesting, and proofreading/editing.
