Reinhold Wittig (born 1937 in Göttingen, Lower Saxony, Germany, died 2026 in Göttingen) was a German game designer, puppet creator and player, and planetary geologist specialized in prehistoric earthquakes. He has been hosting the Göttingen Game Designer Convention, the largest of its kind, since the early 1980s and was the initiator of the "Beer Coaster Proclamation", declaring that he won't offer another game to a…

Reinhold Wittig was also a five time winner of the special award for the "Beautiful game" by the Spiel des Jahres jury (1980, 1983, 1986, 1993, 1994). Reinhold was inducted into the AAGAD (tabletop gaming) Hall of Fame in 2020.
