Railroad Tiles + Expansions 3D Printable Insert
Contains STL files only
Insert for the following**
1: Base Game Railroad Tiles (Retail box) + Promo Objectives (8 tiles)
2: Worlds Expansion
3: Up to 3x other expansions (note the expansion combination >>MUST<< match the name of the folder, or the containers likely wont fit - reach out to me if the expansion combination you have doesn't match a folder name)
All fits into the core box + 1 expansion box as shown in images.
Currently designed for the following expansion combinations:
A: Lakes, Canals, Countryside
B: Lakes, Energy, Monuments
C: Lakes, Countryside, Monuments
D: Canals, Energy, Monuments
Once purchased - download 1x Expansion Box - Meeples.zip + your expansion version of the Main Box.zip file (eg main box_lakes - countryside - monuments.zip)
**If you have a different configuration of expansions (as there are many!) I can modify this insert to work with your setup - just send me a message - I will need to get the measurements for the components to your expansion.
Key:
RT = Railroad Tiles
MB = Main Box (Base Game box)
EB = Expansion Box
You can mix and match the Meeple trays (in the expansion box) you use to fit your expansions - the Animal Dispenser can be replaced with 2 of the trays that hold 2 sets of meeples each.
You may also notice some empty containers in my images, there was a small amount of extra space which I made into containers for Objectives/Tokens to make the insert work with more expansions without any changes being required.
Advantages to this insert:
1: Gets 1 core box and 4 expansion boxes down to just 1 core box and 1 expansion box.
2: Massively reduces the setup time as every objective is separated into their group of 4 tiles, all meeples have their own containers which can sit by the board, as do the prestige tokens, a game is setup in <60 seconds and everything is stored nicely in containers out of the box.
3: Tile containers - while not as easy as just chucking tiles in a bag, they tiles slide out very easily and each container is labelled for much easier tracking of what container holds what tiles.
For the easiest way to ensure good shuffling of tiles, I recommend dealing the tiles from left to right instead of filling a column at a time - then you can swap between the two Base Game tile containers each round for maximum randomness without needing to shuffle the tiles before stacking them back into the containers.
4: Every meeple has its own container - all of these containers sit in the expansion box, even the 'Worlds' expansion which has roughly 20 sets of unique meeple have their own container to help speed up setup and just keep everything organised! Much easier to know when you've missed a component when everything has its own container.
5: Countryside animals have their own dispenser for better randomness - no one can pick a sheep out of the bag when they need it! - It has a simple design and they come out easily enough with it not being so easy that many come out at once - most of the time 1 will come out, sometimes 2, which is in line with what most people would pull from the bag anyway.
6: Every Objective has its own slot to fit the 4 cards into, and expansion Objectives are stored in their own container, with any relevant expansion components (excluding meeples) such as Ports/Canal ends etc.
7: Vertical Storage or Horizontal Storage - flipped the box upside down and shook it - all components stayed in their containers.
8: Everything is organised into a .3mf file for easy printing for each expansion combination - Supports (the few that are needed) are placed, and colours added with each plate named for details
