This insert for Abroad was designed to speed up setup while preserving the travel theme of the game .
Instead of compressing everything tightly, the design takes advantage of the generous space inside the game box to keep components sorted, accessible, and table-ready .
All tokens are stored in trays so they can go directly from the box to the table , and each player receives their own mini suitcase player box containing everything needed to start the game.
- Suitcase Player Boxes
Thematic player boxes shaped like small suitcases. Each player can simply grab their suitcase and start setting up.
- Organized Player Setup
The suitcase interior is divided into two sections:
- Bottom compartment holds all player setup tokens and starting resources
- Upper compartment stores the 28 day tokens
- A divider inside the suitcase holds the player aid , keeping it protected and easily accessible.
- Card Trays with Built-in Discard Areas
Card trays include dedicated discard sections , so you don't need extra bowls or table space during play.
- Sorted Resource Tray
All resource tokens are stored in a dedicated tray , making them easy to access for all players.
- Country Token Organizer
Country tokens are pre-sorted in a tray , eliminating setup sorting.
- Quick Setup Box
A dedicated setup tray contains the components needed to prepare the board, allowing for a faster and more streamlined setup.
- The outer suitcase shell prints in place , including the main hinge.
- The inner shelf is printed separately and can easily be printed in a different color .
- The shelf slides perfectly into the outer shell.
Two parts require simple assembly:
- Suitcase handle
- Suitcase divider
A short piece of filament acts as the hinge pin :
- Insert filament through the hinge openings
- Push it through completely
- Trim the ends with pliers
