Emberleaf 3d Buildings

This is my first model uploaded on MakerWorld! Thank you to the great people over at the Room & Board discord for their patience and for their help with creating and uploading these buildings!

These are 3d buildings modeled off of the cardboard building tokens in the board game Emberleaf. I used Blender to build these out, and used Windows 3d builder to fix a lot of my geometry mistakes. I'm an amateur, and learned a lot from this and am sure these leave a good deal to be desired on the quality front =)

What you need to print for a full playset:

• 15 of each building
• plus an extra 5 markets

The models print reasonably well with the 0.4mm nozzle on the 0.16 quality setting. Given that I did not add an overabundance of small details to these miniatures, I don't believe a 0.2mm nozzle is necessary. If someone were to make a higher quality version, I'm sure that could be better.

Supports:

• The windmill requires supports. These are enabled on the print profile.
• The Market requires supports. I think I could maybe have fixed this with an Extrude Down in 3d builder… But anyway, these are enabled on the print profile, BUT you probably won't see them on the final print.
• The other 3 buildings do NOT require supports, and as such supports are not enabled for them.

The Boat Houses:

• There are two different models for Boat Houses. Choose whichever you prefer. YOU DO NOT NEED BOTH!
• Option 1 has the flat bottom and is very simple and basic. I think with the blue PLA (or maybe a silk blue?) or painted base this could look lovely. The blue is very distinct on the board so this may be a great option.
• Option 2 has retaining walls so that you can pour in realistic water. I think this looks AWESOME…… BUT….
• On the bottle of the Realistic water it says “This does not dry as a solid. Do not place anything on top of it, it WILL adhere and be damaged.” PLEASE use realistic water or any other filling with appropriate caution. I think maybe transparent resin, cured correctly, could look great and function very well in the retaining wall. But please take appropriate cautions!

Concerns:

• General - 3d buildings can block human line of sight to the game board - especially meeples standing on the ground behind a building. I think in general 3d buildings in games have some tradeoffs, but something for you and your game group to keep in mind!
• General - I don't know if the detail is good enough for these to be painted nicely
• General - I didn't include the Market / Houses without the roads. If that is something you'd prefer, for whatever reason, let me know and I'll find those files (fix 'em up) and get them uploaded.
• The Town Hall - The roof holds the meeples. Some of the meeples sit on the roof easily. Other's (the rat!) don't like it as much. It's no struggle to balance 2 meeples up there, but once you're in 3+ territory… It's officially a minigame. \
• The windmill - Even with supports, some of the small edges of the windmill have frayed on my prints. Nothing a little clipping can't clean up, but wanted to call this out!
