What changed: reinforced hinges Reinforced bar holders slice-combined parts for strength

Designer's Description

Part of the DesktopGames | Terrorscape 3D Upgrade Series

I recently got into Terrorscape and quickly realized something important:
nothing kills immersion faster than a dramatic barricade… represented by a flat piece of paper.

So naturally, I fixed it.

🧱 What this is

A 3D replacement for the Barrier Token , turning it into an actual physical barricaded door instead of… well… cardboard.

Same footprint, same purpose — just significantly less disappointing on the table.

🔄 Remix (a.k.a. “why this wasn’t just a scale job”)

This is based on some great existing dungeon door models — but simply scaling them down to token size went about as well as you’d expect:

  • scaled to 79% to match the original token
  • hinges and bar holders immediately gave up on life
  • so yes… partial remodel was required

What’s changed:

  • reinforced hinges
  • reinforced bar holders
  • slice-combined parts for strength

👉 Result: it prints cleanly and doesn’t fall apart when you look at it wrong

🖨 Print setup (tested, not wishful thinking)

Printed on:

  • Prusa MK4S (FFF)
  • PETG – C-TECH Premium

Settings tested:

  • 0.25mm FAST (Draft) → surprisingly solid and perfectly usable
  • 0.10mm FAST (Detail) → looks great if you want cleaner visuals
  • 3 perimeters (recommended)

Good news:

  • no supports needed
  • after reinforcement → fully functional (hinges + bar hold up properly)

So yes — this is one of those rare prints that actually works and doesn’t require babysitting.

🎨 Finishing

Painted with:

  • Revell Acrylic paints
  • Revell oil washer

Nothing fancy — just basic washer & painting, and it already makes a huge difference on the table.

🎲 In-game use

Direct replacement for the Barrier Token.

Function stays exactly the same:

  • blocks movement
  • creates choke points
  • makes players rethink their decisions

Only difference:
👉 now it actually looks like something that would stop a person.

📦 Part of a series

This model is part of the:

DesktopGames | Terrorscape | Token Series

Finished:

  • [Base Game] Barrier Token
  • [Base Game] Fear Token
  • [Base Game] Killer Level Indicator Token
  • [Base Game] Repair Token
  • [Base Game] Noise Token
  • [1st Extension] Chest Token {Just re-scale to 70% and 53.37% for use on Terrorscape}
  • [3rd Extension] Portcullis Door Token

Planned / ongoing:

  • more token replacements
  • Gridfinity-based insert for base game + expansions

Because if one token is 3D… let’s not pretend the rest can stay 2D.
