Designer's Description

This is an insert / organizer for Mille Fiori with The Masterpieces expansion. It supports premium sleeves, vertical storage, has no lid lift, and was designed to aid setup and teardown. Here are some features.

  • Most trays are designed to placed directly on the table during play, including:
  • Individual player trays to hold the diamond-shaped glass pieces.
  • An end-game tray that holds the extra three glass pieces per player and the scoring tokens (100, 200, 300, and 400). Place this near the scoring track.
  • Separate card trays for the primary game cards, the dogaressa cards, and the masterpiece cards. The primary card tray has an adjustable divider. To keep the table tidy, you can place your discards behind that divider and move the divider forward as the card pool runs out.
  • Setup trays for the player ships and pawns as well as the council tiles. These can stay in the box.
  • The game comes with rulebooks in several languages. I placed all but my preferred language in the bottom of the box. I then add the trays from this insert. And on the very top, I place the manuals in my preferred language. If you do not keep the manuals in other languages, you might have a component or two shift out of their trays if storing vertically. Probably not (it is only a few millimeters of difference), but you might.
  • Plenty of finger holes to make it easy to get the trays out of the box.

Here is a video overview of the insert:

To achieve the insert as shown, print each tray the number of times specified in the file name (e.g., print four of the player trays) and one of everything else. If you want to save some filament, you could use a honeycomb infill and turn off the top and bottom layers for the spacer trays. The photos show how to layer all the trays, game boards, and manuals in the box.

I have included the original OpenSCAD files in case anyone wants to improve on the design for non-commercial purposes.
