This insert turns the original Forest Shuffle box into a one-box home for your whole collection: the base game (including the reference and cave cards) plus two expansion packs (Alpine and Woodland Edge), every card sleeved. If future 36-card expansions are released, a combination of any two should fit just as well. If you're looking for a design that holds three expansion packs, please look at this model .
My son-in-law (a master board gamer) and I built this together as a modified version of a very nice Printables design . (I say "we," but my son-in-law did a great job on all the design work). The original was close — but sleeved cards spilled over the edges, and a few details bothered us enough to fix them:
- Deeper card wells and a larger footprint — the insert now fully fits the game box, and sleeved stacks sit below the rim instead of spilling over.
- Squared-off finger slots with a wider arc — cards lift out with a natural grip instead of a fingertip fish.
- A pen slot sized for a Pilot G-2 — it holds the pen securely but releases it easily. A second profile has a longer slot for other pens or pencils.
- The scorepad slot rotated 90 degrees — the pad faces up when you open the box, ready to play.
- An extended bottom under the slot ends — purely aesthetic, but it finishes the underside cleanly.
Everything packs in layers: sleeved cards and pen first, then the scorepad facing up, the clearing board over the card bays, and the rulebook and reference sheets on top. The lid closes flush.
We used 59x91 mm Gamegenic Standard American Matte sleeves . Other same-sized sleeves fit fine too. You need 252 sleeves total; a single 5x50 bundle usually includes enough extras to cover it.
Two print profiles are included: the standard insert (about 4.6 h) and a variant with a longer pen slot for other pens or pencils (about 5.1 h). Each is a single plate, single color.
- Material: Bambu Lab PLA Matte (we printed in Matte Charcoal) with standard filament settings
- Supports: none needed
- Bed adhesion: take the usual precautions — this print runs close to the edges of a 256 mm plate, where adhesion can be a challenge
I design my models in Fusion, print prototypes, then revise and repeat until I think it's worth sharing with you. My pictures are of the actual models I design and print — I use AI to add the captions and logos and make the photos look more professional, but you're looking at a designed model, not merely a downloaded one!
Boost Me Boosts are never expected, but are always appreciated. Please enjoy our models.
Sleeve them once, then it almost packs itself away.
