Designer's Description

A Journey to the Moon

Shackleton Base is a beautiful, system-driven game. It deserved an insert that removes friction, respects the components, and makes setup feel intentional rather than procedural.

This organizer is built around fast setup, durable fit, and clean table presence. Everything has a place, and most trays go directly from box to table. The design balances usability with aesthetics, using layered color contrast to match the game’s white → blue → black theme.

Corporation trays are designed to display the card art - keeping the visual identity of the game intact while staying practical.

Key Features
  • Fast setup and teardown

No sorting, no fiddling - open the box and start playing

  • Card-first organization

Trays are structured with cards in the lid for quick overview and access

  • Resource tray (split)

Separate compartments for Rare Earth and Titanium
Supports custom components:

  • Metal bars
  • Acrylic gemstones
  • Astronaut tray

Sorted and ready for direct table use

  • Coin tray (table-ready)

Works with both cardboard coins and 3D printed versions

  • Individual player trays

Each player gets a dedicated tray containing:

  • Dome tiles + optional 3D domes

All player markers (Goal, VP, Reputation, Turn Order, 50/100 and 150/200 banners)

  • Evergreen dome tray

Compatible with Evergreen Domes

  • Labeled trays

Each slot is tagged with component counts for consistent packing

Aesthetics

The game’s palette is subtle and hard to translate into plastic.
This insert uses:

  • White base layer
  • Semi-translucent blue middle layer
  • Dark blue accents on top layers

The result is a clean, layered look that stays within the theme without becoming noisy.

Version 1.1

  • Tighter dovetail on the spacer - reduces play and eliminates the need for gluing in most cases
  • Updated shuttle box geometry for better fit and easier removal
  • Top accent color made slightly thicker for better visual definition
  • Lids reorganized and repainted - improved layout consistency and cleaner color distribution across the set
  • Supports added and configured for the lid build plate - no manual setup required, print-ready out of the box

Version 1.0

  • Initial release
Notes
  • Zero lid lift - everything fits flush, box closes fully
  • Spacer may need to be glued depending on your printer tolerances
  • Designed for sleeved cards (tested with Gamegenic)
  • Vertical storage
  • Supports both stock and upgraded components
  • Additional layouts or variations may be released later
