Carl v. Linné Insert / Carl von Linne Insert
This custom-designed insert for **Carl v. Linné** keeps your components organised, both inside the game box and on the table. Just like my **Ada’s Dream insert**, it is designed so that all trays can go straight from the game box to the table. Components stay sorted and within easy reach, making setup much faster.
Features at a glance:
- **Four player boxes** with colour-coded portrait lids and removable trays for wooden pieces and sample tiles.
- **Dedicated holders for cards and tiles**, including books, letters, samples, exotic samples and sketch tiles. Sleeved cards are supported, too.
- **Two coin trays and two trays for containers and tools**, allowing you to place shared supplies within reach around the table.
- **A dedicated setup tray** that keeps the components needed for game setup together.
- **Separate boxes for solo components and advanced setup**, keeping these materials organised until needed.
- **A labelled baseplate** that gives each module a designated spot in the original game box. Packing everything away is easy – no packing puzzle required!
- **A small free bonus:** 3D-printable container and tool tokens are also included.
Finger cutouts make cards and tiles easy to remove, while labelled lids help you quickly identify each container.
The design also reflects the game’s theme: wood-grain textures, flowing lettering and colourful portrait motifs evoke historical specimen boxes and complement the world of naturalists and exploration.
Wood-filled filament is a great match for this design, reinforcing the look of small specimen boxes. Other light and dark brown filaments also work well. For the print shown here, I used **Bambu Lab Desert Tan and Dark Brown**. Feel free to use whichever colours and filaments you think suit it best!
I’ll add a “How to Pack” guide later, but the labels should make it easy to put everything back in its place. You can also refer to the photos, which show all the parts.
A pre-colored bambu 3mf file is included, as well as one file each for printers with a print area larger and smaller than 288mm.
If time is no issue, i remmomend to print it with a layer height of 0,16mm or 0,12mm. The wooden texture will look a lot better than.
