This is an enhanced remix of the Deluxe Insert for Ark Nova and Marine Worlds Expansion by SH Designs , featuring multiple refinements to improve storage, organization, and usability.
Important: print from the 3MF project(s), not the individual STLs
Several trays are shaped by negative modifiers stored in the 3MF print profile. Import the STLs on their own and you get the uncut originals, which will not fit. Download the 3MF and open it in Bambu Studio or Orca Slicer, then print the profile as-is. Other slicers may drop the modifiers. Don't rescale parts in the slicer - that changes the footprint too.
- Lid Spacer: Added a spacer for the lid to secure the board and player boards , allowing for vertical storage .
- Negative Modifiers for Compatibility:
- Adjusted Unique Building trays to accommodate different print/punch versions of the game.
- Updated setup tray to hold 16 bonus tiles instead of 15 .
- Additional Trays for Better Organization:
- 3 new trays (replacing 1 original tray) for:
- Conservation projects
- Final scoring cards
- Draft action cards
- Included Plates for Popular Upgrades:
- Kiosks by SerialGriller
- Pavilions by PatR
- X Tokens by PrintnBeam
- No lid lift
- Expanded Setup Box:
- Added space for another coffee cup —because choosing between brown and white is tough.
- Made the extra compartment deeper to hold more surplus components.
- Included a dedicated plate for the break token (Source: mikemikemikemike )
- Aligned Storage: Adjusted the Animals University slot so it aligns properly when stored.
- Pavilion Refinements:
- Scaled vertically from 17.3 mm to 16 mm to fit better in the box.
- Removed flimsy pavilions entirely.
- Tile Box Split:
- Separated storage for player tiles and special enclosure tiles to match their different uses.
- Added indents for easier identification of the tile removal spot in the special enclosure trays.
- To make room for this redesign, the bottom part of the special enclosure trays was lowered just below plate level , so pay attention not to reorganize these plates.
- Coin Plates Added: (Source: tigmg )
- The delivered cardboard coins are a bit lackluster. For full immersion, printed coins (or actual coins) are preferred. Since you have a 3D printer, why not print some coins? 😉
- Recommended print settings: 0.2 mm nozzle, 0.06 layer height, Arachne with min. feature size 1, 4 wall loops, and full infill. Or just use my print profile on his project
- Suggested material: Silk+ filament for a premium finish (slow outer wall speed of 50).
- Spacer Refinements: Updated the lid spacer with stenciled fonts to replace the original holes for improved aesthetics.
New in v1.2
- Fixed missed height of special tiles tray and holder. Lowered each 0.7mm below plate, to make the nessecary room
New in v1.3
- Colored layers to match Ark Nova box art style
- Painted kiosks and pavillions
Many thanks to SerialGriller, PatR, PrintnBeam, mikemikemikemike, and tigmg for their fantastic designs and contributions!
This insert supports sleved cards with Arcane Tinmen matte sleeves (~80 µm) . Thicker “premium” sleeves (often 100–110 µm , e.g. Dragon Shield) add significant bulk and may cause some card stacks to no longer fit the trays.

- Pavilion (sturdier version) by PatR (my preferred choice)
- X Tokens by PrintnBeam (a fantastic upgrade from the paper tokens)
These ideas were considered but did not make it into v1.1 . They may be added in a future version:
- Rounded corners on the Solo Tray – All other trays have rounded corners, so this one feels inconsistent.
- Indent in the Basic Enclosure Trays (opposite the 3-enclosure section) – This would make it easier to pick them out of the insert.
- Add a great x2 token – Haven’t found a good one yet. Might design it myself, using the same layered pattern as the X tokens .
