Designer's Description
Faraway Insert - Clean, Compact, Complete
A purpose-built insert for Faraway that focuses on flow at the table, fast setup, and components that are actually pleasant to use.
This is a single-piece organizer that turns the box into a functional play station rather than a storage problem.
What it supports
- Base game
- People From Below expansion
- Under Starry Skies expansion
- Sleeved cards (tested with standard sleeves)
- Scoring pad
- Short pencil for scoring
Everything lives in the box. No lid lift.
Design goals
Playability first
- Cards are easy to grab, even with big fingers
- Open wells, low walls, and finger cutouts where they matter
- No digging, no flipping stacks, no component wrestling
Fast setup and teardown
- Each component type has a dedicated, obvious location
- Take the tray out, deal cards, play
- Cleanup is just as frictionless
Compact but not cramped
- Tight footprint without stressing cards or sleeves
- Expansions integrated, not treated as an afterthought
One piece. No puzzle.
- No stack of mini trays to manage
- No “where did this part go” moment
- Just lift and play
Aesthetic fit
The insert follows the visual language of Faraway :
- Soft geometry
- Clean surfaces
- Integrated logo area
- Neutral tone that lets the artwork shine
It looks like it belongs in the box, not like an aftermarket hack.
There are many inserts for Faraway, but this one is mine! This one is built around ergonomics, speed, and real table use .
